South Korea's president-elect Lee Myung-bak says his government will continue to press North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons after he takes office, but adds that he will also be patient with Pyongyang.
Speaking with foreign correspondents in Seoul Thursday, Mr. Lee promised more cooperation with countries involved in the talks on North Korea's nuclear program, such as the United States, China, Russia and Japan.
He also said he would try to convince the North that giving up its nuclear weapons program will benefit both the government and its people.
