索拉纳称与伊朗谈判有进展无协议 (Solana Says Nuclear Talks with Iran Made Progress, No Deal)

欧盟外交政策专员索拉纳星期四在柏林说，与伊朗的核谈判取得一些进展，但是没有达成任何协议。索拉钠与伊朗核项目首席谈判代表拉里贾尼进行了两天的会谈后在柏林发表了以上讲话。索拉纳说，双方还有一些问题有待解决，但是他说他希望近日内将与伊朗再次接触。

拉里贾尼也称会谈“具有建设性”，取得了“某些积极结论”。拉里贾尼和索拉纳都没有提供细节。

在伊朗城市卡拉季，伊朗总统艾哈迈迪内贾德再次回绝了国际社会要伊朗中止浓缩铀活动的要求。

European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana says there has been some progress, but no deal reached in nuclear talks with Iran.　Solana spoke in Berlin Thursday after two days of discussions with Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani.　Ｈe said the two sides have yet to resolve some issues, but he said he hopes to renew contact with Iran in a few days.

Larijani also called the talks "constructive" and he said "some positive conclusions" were reached.　Neither Larijani nor Solana provided specifics.

In the Iranian city of Karaj, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad again rejected international demands to suspend uranium enrichment.

美称阿巴边境袭击增三倍 (US Says Attacks Along Afghan-Pakistan Border Have Tripled)

美国军方说，激进分子在阿富汗沿巴基斯坦边境一带发动的袭击增加到原来的3倍。美国领导的驻阿富汗联军发言人说，北瓦济里斯坦附近的袭击事件增加得更多。那是一个部落地区，巴基斯坦当局同意与那里的激进分子休战。这位发言人没有说明在阿富汗发动袭击的激进分子是否把北瓦济里斯坦做为他们的基地。

The U.S. military says militant attacks have tripled in Afghanistan along the border with Pakistan.　A spokesman for U.S.-led coalition forces in Afghanistan says the increase in attacks was greatest near North Waziristan -- a tribal area where Pakistani authorities agreed to a truce with militants.　The spokesman did not say if the militants behind the attacks in Afghanistan were based in Pakistan's North Waziristan region.

Violence along the border has led to increased tensions between Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his Pakistani counterpart, Pervez Musharraf.　The two had dinner with President Bush at the White House Wednesday, discussing how they could work together to defeat terrorism.
