(China: North Korea Says No More Nuclear Tests Unless Provoked)

China says North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has told Beijing officials he is not planning to conduct another nuclear test, unless international pressure provokes Pyongyang to change its course. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao Tuesday also denied recent news reports that Kim Jong Il apologized to a visiting Chinese envoy last week for the international uproar caused by his country's nuclear test.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice earlier cast doubt on the reports of Mr. Kim's apology and his pledge not to conduct another test.

North Korea's neighbors have been on high alert since Pyongyang's nuclear weapons test October ninth, and world leaders have been working strenuously to pursuade North Korea back to six-party talks.

(AP Photographer Kidnapped in Gaza)

Palestinian gunmen in Gaza have kidnapped a Spanish photographer working for the Associated Press. Emilio Morenatti was abducted early Tuesday morning in Gaza City as he left an apartment building to get into an A.P. car. The driver of the car says four masked gunmen restrained him and shoved Morenatti into a white Volkswagen and drove away. No one has claimed responsibility.

A spokesman for the Hamas-led Palestinian government condemned Morenatti's kidnapping and demanded his immediate release. He said the act violates Palestinian interests. The office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a similar condemnation and said Palestinian security forces are searching for the photographer.
